Bronx, NY

Montefiore Medical Center needed to upgrade their Einstein campus at East Gunhill Road and Bainbridge Avenue. This facility was lacking a sense of identity to people coming into the area - not knowing they were withing the Montefiore/ Einstein campus. Creation of a new look Downtown included scored concrete sidewalks, colored sidewalks, period style lighting fixtures, street trees, uniform street furniture and a reduction in the amount of street signage. The resulting improvements produced a safe, welcoming downtown.

Shinnyo-En Church
White Plains, NY

A professional team of architects, engineers and landscape architects, working together from the initial design phase, created a place of worship which met both the church and parishioner requirements as well as strict municipal requirements. The site of this new church was on an existing old mansion property. The new design had to accommodate zoning and parking requirements; building setback regulations; and neighborhood group issues.

There were several magnificent specimen trees (hundreds of years old) throughout the property. Building and parking were situated to preserve these trees. The resulting site is a first class example of site planning designed to enhance existing amenities and to produce a modern facility that meets the users' program.

Congo Forest Exhibit, Bronx Zoo
Bronx, NY

Opened in the summer of 1999, "Congo" is an award winning collaboration of wildlife experts, site planners, engineers, landscape architects and architects working together to create a native habitat for several endangered wildlife species. Work included preparation of design documents based on sketches, perspectives and other visual aids prepared by the Wildlife In-house staff . Their visions had to be set on paper to enable construction crews to build the new habitat. The resulting exhibition has won numerous awards and is one of the main attractions at the Zoo.

Greenburg Graham School
Hastings, NY

As subconsultants to an architectural firm, the new junior high school was constructed next to an existing school facility.

On a site of rather difficult topography and narrow dimensions, the new school was built. A site plan was developed to incorporate the existing school facility, topography, existing infrastructure, roadways, storm drainage, sanitary sewage and water supply. The site and new building design complement the existing site and buildings.
